Microsoft is going to improve its search functionality with a new feature called Top Hits, as per a report by TechRadar. The Redmond-based tech giant has published a new entry to the Microsoft 365 cloud PC service roadmap as per which the new feature Top Hits is going to be added to automatically generate the most relevant search results.
The feature is still under development and is slated to roll out by the end of August. As per Microsoft, the Top Hits section will autosuggest the most relevant results across people, chats, files, and other content stored or shared in the app. With Top Hits, you can expect to find what you searched for faster as the feature adds another layer to the search algorithm employed in Teams.
Ever since the pandemic began, Microsoft has tried to make Teams popular by adding a slew of features to the platform such as video calls, file sharing and more. About a month back, Microsoft made it possible for Teams users to merge the work and personal accounts in the same app at the same time. With this update, people can use both their personal and work accounts from the same app on your Windows 10 PC. The update to Microsoft Teams removed the need to toggle between the two types of accounts.
The tech giant also added new video conferencing tools to the platform like Reporter mode, Standout mode and Side-by-side modes during the pandemic only. In all three modes, the actual background of the presenter is removed from the presentation and replaced by either the content that is going to be shown or by the picture of the person presenting that particular chunk of content or both.
