SRINAGAR: A policeman and a civilian were injured after suspected terrorists opened fire on a police party near Sheeraz Khanyar in Srinagar district on Tuesday, a senior officer said.
The officer added that the cop sustained a bullet wound in his stomach and was taken to a nearby hospital, along with the civilian.
Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir Police issued a new target list of top 10 terrorists in the Valley on Monday evening.
In an official tweet by the Kashmir Zone Police, IGP Vijay Kumar said that three new names were added to the list of the “top 10 targets”.
“Old terrorists – Salim Parray, Yousuf Kantroo, Abbas Sheikh, Reyaz Shetergund, Farooq Nali, Zubair Wani & Ashraf Molvi. New terrorists – Saqib Manzoor, Umer Mustaq Khandey & Wakeel Shah,” the tweet read.

The Srinagar attack came in the wake of the police alerts issued to the security forces ahead of August 5, the second anniversary of abrogation of Article 370, as well as the Independence Day on August 15.
Several national-level functions are scheduled to be held across J&K on August 15.
